We are without excuse when it comes to salvation

we all must choose the way we're going to follow

that His invisible qualities, His power and His glory

they can be understood by what has been made,

Well I'm not real wise by human ways, not influential or of noble birth

sometimes I wonder if what I do is good enough before the eyes of the world, or even of the church

oh I may doubt my own gifts and feel I ain't done nothin' someone else hasn't already tried

but then I open the Word and find God telling me "just preach Christ crucified"

You see the way God works is not to use the high and mighty as the world itself defines

He wants to use those people like you and me, all those in the world but of a lowly mind

so be sure you remember what the Bible says if you're tryin' to be glorified

it says "the wisdom of the world is but foolishness with God...so we preach Christ crucified"

hey you believer, Jesus is our wisdom from God

hey new believer, He clothed you with the righteousness in His blood

so when you're out on a limb and want to use your own insight

don't rely on what you've already tried

God gave a message to you and it will come out new, you need to preach Christ crucified

This message may seem simplistic and it may be despised by those the world would say are wise

they say it's weak and frivolous for their "fulfilled" lives, for they're walkin' not by faith but with their eyes

oh it's the ones like these we often want to be like, but take heed for their life is a lie
